State Water Board Approved 2010 Integrated Report (Clean Water Act Section 303(d) List / 305(b) Report

On August 4, 2010, the State Water Board approved the 303(d) List portion of the 2010 Integrated Report. The 2010 Integrated Report includes changes to the 2006 Clean Water Act Section 303(d) list of impaired water bodies and Clean Water Act Section 305(b) report on the quality of waters in California. The 2010 Integrated Report and supporting documents were submitted to the USEPA for final approval on October 11, 2010.

• State Water Board Approved 2010 Integrated Report Categories
  The 2010 Integrated Report places each assessed water segment into one of the five non-overlapping USEPA categories based on the overall beneficial use support of the water segment. In California, the 303(d) List is made up of three of the Integrated Report categories, 5, 4A, and 4B. These categories contain water segments that are not meeting water quality standards or not expected to meet water quality standards.

State Water Board Staff Proposed 2010 Integrated Report (Clean Water Act Section 303(d) List / 305(b) Report

The State Water Board Staff Proposed California 2010 Integrated Report is a compilation of the Regional Water Quality Control Boards' 2008 Integrated Reports with State Board staff recommendations for additions, deletions, or changes. The 2010 Integrated Report provides the recommendations of the staff of the State Water Board for changes to the 2006 Clean Water Act Section 303(d) list of impaired water bodies and Clean Water Act Section 305(b) report on the quality of waters in California. Although the reporting process for 303(d) and 305(b) has been combined, only the 303(d) list requires approval by the State Water Board and USEPA.

• On April 19, 2010, the public was invited to comment on the Staff Proposed 2010 Federal Clean Water Act Section 303(d) List of Water Quality Limited Segments For California. The State Water Board considered the proposed 303(d) List at its June 15, 2010 meeting. The June 15, 2010 meeting was converted to a workshop to receive public comment. Board Action was deferred to the August 4, 2010 meeting.
