description: <div>The SNC used the the California Citizens Redistricting Commission US House of Representatives District layer to create the SNC's United States House of Representatives District layer that is available for viewing in the SNC's arcgis.com account. The original California Citizens Redistricting Commission data was downloaded from the SanGIS website in December 2013.  After downloading, the data was brought in to ArcGIS Desktop Advanced. The downloaded data did not include metadata and was in the Geographic Coordinate System, GRS 1980. The shapefile was exported to a feature class in a file geodatabase in the Web Mercator projection. Since the SNC's goal was providing additional details about each district in the attribute table, the district boundaries' spatial data or vertices were not modified in any manner. Following the data being brought in to a file geodatabse in December 2013, two fields were added to the attribute table to provide greater information regarding the current political representation of each district, the representative's first and last name and their district's respective website. Where possible, the House Committees each Representative is a member of were also added to the attribute table. After each election cycle, the representative information is reviewed and is updated based on the final election results posted on the United States House of Representatives website. Thus, the data is current to the most recent State-wide election. </div><div><br /></div><div>The California Citizens Redistricting Commission final certified district map of the California State Assembly District boundaries was adopted on August 15, 2011 by the California Citizens Redistricting Commission for the June 2012 primary elections.
